1. Check Your Eligibility
Determine which type of FSSAI registration suits your food business. Check your annual turnover to decide between Basic Registration, State License, or Central License. Some exemptions exist for certain food items and small-scale operations.
2. Prepare All Required Documents
Collect and organize all required documents listed above. Ensure documents are valid and in digital format for online submission. Make scanned copies of all physical documents with clear resolution.
3. Visit FSSAI Portal
Go to the official FSSAI portal at fssai.gov.in. Look for the “Apply For New Registration” option. Create an account if you don’t have one already using your email and mobile number.
4. Fill Application Form
Complete the FSSAI application form with accurate details about your food business. Provide information about business type, products, manufacturing process, premises location, and contact details. Double-check all entries for accuracy.
5. Upload Supporting Documents
Upload scanned copies of all required documents through the portal. Ensure files are in acceptable format (PDF/JPG) and within size limits. Each document must be clearly visible and legible.
6. Pay Application Fee
Pay the FSSAI application fee online through the Payment gateway. Use debit card, credit card, or net banking. Keep the transaction receipt for reference. A confirmation email will be sent immediately.
7 Track Application Status
Use your login credentials to track your FSSAI application status on the portal. You’ll receive email and SMS updates at each stage. The FSSAI team may request additional information if needed.
8. Complete Inspection (if required)
FSSAI may schedule a physical inspection of your premises. Ensure your food business facility meets all safety and hygiene standards. The inspector will verify documents and check equipment.
9. Receive FSSAI Certificate
Upon approval, your FSSAI certificate will be issued online. Download it from your account dashboard. You can also receive a hard copy at your registered address. The certificate validity is mentioned clearly on the document.
